"The Mystery Lake of Uttarakhand" - the Roopkund Lake - is a must do trek for an avid trekker. The Roopkund trek is a moderate trek, with a beautiful view of mountainous rivers, enthralling ridges, lush green forests and scenic meadows around. The trek starts from Lohajung and takes you through a high altitude of 16,499 ft. during which you can spot Bedni Bugyal, the quaint villages of Wan and Didna. The zig-zag and snowy trail offers the best views of the Roopkund Lake, Neelganga river and also offers a memorable experience of meditating at the Kalu Vinayak temple. Do not forget to notice the royal twin peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri and Hathi Ghodi Parvat and spot the rare-yellow Himalayan magpie.

Day 1 - Lohajung to Didna Village | Immerse in the Serenity of Roopkund Glacier Lake
- Reach Lohajung by early morning and after meeting with the guide, start your trek towards Didna.
- Spot the beauty of the Neelganga river as you ascend during the trek.
- Trek towards the snowy trail and arrive at the pristine Roopkund Glacier Lake.
- After admiring the beauty of the famous lake, traverse through mixed forests of oak and bamboo to arrive at Didna Village.
- Arrive at your first base camp and enjoy a hot dinner by the campsite.
- Overnight stay at Didna Village.
Day 2 - Dudna Village to Ali Bugyal | Admire the Summit Views of Garhwal Himalayas
- Enjoy a lip-smacking breakfast at Didna and get ready for the trek.
- The trail takes you through oak and bamboo forests. You can also spot the snow-capped Garhwal Himalayas during the trek.
- Arrive at Ali Bugyal and immerse in the beauty of open alpine grazing meadows as you relish over the mouth-watering dinner.

Day 3 - Ali Bugyal to Ghora Lotani | Enjoy the Panoramic Views with the Himalayan magpie
- Relish over a delectable breakfast and start your trek.
- As you ascend, spot a Himalayan Magpie on the way.
- Reach Ghora Lotani, relax at the campsite and enjoy exquisite views of the stars.

Day 4 - Ghora Lotani to Bhagwabasa | Experience Icy-winds Around
- After a wholesome breakfast at Ghora Lotani, it's time to start your trek.
- Trek to an altitude of 12,500 ft. to 14,500 ft. Overcome the challenges offered by high altitudes, zigzag passes and icy cold winds.
- Passing through the famous Kalu Vinayak, and spot the black stoned idol of Lord Ganesha.
- Arrive at Bhagwabasa and enjoy a campsite stay in a desolate and barren landscape.
- Overnight stay at Bhagwabasa.
Day 5 - Bhagwabasa to Bedni Bugyal | Immerse in the Pristine Beauty of Roopkund Lake
- After a freshly served breakfast at Bhagwabasa, get ready for a challenging day.
- Trek to the mysterious Roopkund Lake located in the laps of Mt. Trishul, which has overwhelmed many travellers with it's innumerable stories.
- Trek for another half an hour to reach Junar Gali, the highest point on this trail, and trek back to the base camp at Bedni Bugyal via Bhagwabasa.
- Witness the captivating Garhwal Himalayas in full glory extending up to Gangotri.
- Overnight stay at Bedni Bugyal.
Day 6 - Bedni Bugyal to Lohajung | End of Your Trip
- Enjoy a mouth watering breakfast at Bedni Bugyal and start your journey surrounded by rhododendron forests and alpine meadows.
- As you ascend experience and capture a glimpse of Mt. Trishul from Kanakdhar.
- Enroute, immerse in the serenity of quaint village, Wan.
- Spot the famous and holy Neelganga river on your way.
- Get transfered to Lohajung and complete the checkin formalities at the stay.

Day 7 - Lohajung | End of Your Trip

- The best time to go on the Roopkund trek is from late May to mid-June and September to October. During these months, the weather is clear and the trekking path is not covered by snow. You should avoid the monsson seasons July and August due to heavy rainfall.
